Nine neighbourhood guides

Find your part of Ottawa.

Ottawa is a city of distinct districts, older mainstreets and growing suburban communities. Compare the exact details that shape a rental decision.

Start with your routine

The name is only the beginning.

Ottawa neighbourhoods often cover more ground than a map label suggests. The actual property address determines how you reach work, groceries, transit, recreation and the people important to you.

Map the real trip

Check the route at the time you normally travel and include the return journey.

Use current transit

Check today's transit service before choosing a home; planned extensions and opening dates can change.

Visit the block

See the immediate street, amenities and walking conditions in daylight and evening.

Ottawa at a glance

Move from west to east.

Use the map to see where each area sits, then check boundaries and current transit through the official links in each guide.

Stittsville

Stittsville combines an older Main Street with expanding suburban neighbourhoods around it. The historic corridor retains a more village-scale identity, while newer development connects the community closely with the rest of Ottawa's west end.

Centretown

Centretown is a dense central district where early residential streets meet the commercial activity of Bank and Elgin and the taller buildings closer to downtown. Its housing reflects that history, from converted houses and low-rise apartments to newer mid- and high-rise buildings.

Westboro

Westboro is an inner-west district centred on Richmond Road, with a well-used mainstreet and access to Ottawa River recreation. Its rental appeal comes from combining local shops and services with varied residential streets and a relatively direct connection toward central Ottawa.

Still comparing?

Compare the home and neighbourhood together.

A townhouse near your usual destinations may work better than a larger house that adds a difficult trip. An apartment with included utilities may compare differently from one with a lower advertised rent. Keep the whole picture visible.
